Kapok Pod

Kapok pods are the peels from the cotton-like fibrous seedpod from the Ceiba pentandra tree, sometimes referred to as kapok. These peels are quite light and buoyant, so we typically use kapok pods only in vivariums and Microvariums. The fiber in these pods is like cotton, remnants on the pods are sometimes mistaken for mold. Despite their size, when used intentionally, they can be an interesting addition to even the smaller enclosure.
