When grown in a sandy woodland environment Thamnobryum alopecurum (Foxtail Feather Moss) has a blackish stem, unlike any other moss. At 0.5in tall, this robust moss is one of the largest tree-like mosses available. This versatile moss does well in full shade and can be grown on sandy soil, rocks, or wood in a high-humidity environment. It’s a good choice for tropical isopods, such as Panda King or any of the cubaris species.
