Tropical Springtails on Clay

Springtails are the perfect groundskeepers for any habitat. They are a terrific compliment to isopods and are considered a cornerstone of a bioactive enclosure. Springtails are decomposers by nature, so they will eat leftover food, waste, and mold to keep your Isopod Lodge, vivarium, or breeding bins tidy. Tropical springtails grow to about 3-4mm, slightly larger than temperate springtails, and typically require less attention than their temperate counterparts. If there’s a lot of food, they’ll grow in numbers; if there’s less food sources, the population will reduce. They don’t require any maintenance.

Our springtails come in mini 5.5oz starter culture and will quickly establish and populate the enclosure they are added to. We ship our tropical springtails on premium clay substrate. You can keep them in the 5.5oz cup in a warm spot and occasionally feed them with our Springtail Staple to grow your culture as needed. Simply sprinkle some in the enclosure!
