One of the most unique isopod due to its extremely (and we do mean extremely) flat body. Being so flat, they enjoy sticking to wood or rocks. Porcellio werneri are hard to pickup for the same reason.
Similar to other giant porcellio from the Mediterranean region, Porcellio werneri prefer a dry enclosure with only a small humid corner.
Pancake isopods, as they are sometimes called, have a dark grey carapace with white edges. These isopods can get quite large, and reach 1 inch or more.
In our experience, they mostly cling to bark surfaces. We feed our thriving colony of Porcellio werneri mainly with Micrograzer Staple.
