Will I receive a Lego figure with my order?
Unfortunately, no. We only have one figure. His name is Manny. Manny loves to explore our products. We decided to tolerate that. He brings a sense of scale doesn’t he?
When do you ship?
We ship orders containing live animals or plants Monday through Wednesday. Orders with only dry goods ship Monday through Friday. For full details about shipping, visit our shipping page.
Is it legal to ship isopods in the mail?
Yes, we have all the required permissions to ship the isopods we offer within the continental US. A few states have import restrictions. State restrictions are listed on the product page. Note that state restrictions do not apply to all species, so we encourage you to keep exploring and find another species that is allowed in your state.
Where are you located?
We are located in Houston, TX but are an online-only store with no access to the public.
Do you offer a live arrival guarantee?

Why did my shipment come with instructions from APHIS?
APHIS is the government body (part of The US Department of Agriculture, USDA) that regulates animal welfare, animal travel and animal shipments, pests and diseases, plant health, and more. The document contains our permission numbers and safe methods of disposal, in case you decide to get rid of your isopods. Once you receive your isopods and get hooked, this becomes irrelevant though. 🙂
How many isopods can I put in the Isopod Lodge?
We have successfully run lodges for many months with 30 or more isopods in them. It will all depend on the size and age of the species you plan to house. All species that are available to be paired with the Isopod Lodge kit are suitable choices.
Do you offer educational discounts?
